Firepower

Mesa

Game was not starting up correctly.  Displays would show garbage and random solenoids would fire.

Checked out the circuit boards and the batteries had leaked onto 40 pin interconnect and 1 chip.

All battery corrosion was cleaned off , 40 pin interconnect was replaced and a remote battery holder installed.  Socketed and replaced the one corroded chip, and now the game boots.

Game will not hold free play or any settings,  re-pulled the MPU and replaced the blocking diode for the battery and socketed the 5101 RAM in case it is bad. That fixed the bad settings.

Play testing the game some of the switches are closing by themselves. The phantom closures are all in column 4 of the switch matrix.  replacing the chip associated with column 4 fixes this problem.
