Space Station is Out of This World!

We just finished a full shop job and cabinet restoration on this Space Station pinball machine. This project was a long time coming, but the end result made it all worthwhile. Check it out!

Williams came out with Space Station in 1987, and produced around 3,800 machines. (IPDB)

The game came out three years after Space Shuttle, the mega-hit game that almost single-handedly saved Williams from going under.

Trying to build on the earlier game’s legacy, and great ramp action, Space Station wasn’t quite as popular, but still has its own fans.

We thought the LEDs looked particularly good on this game. We installed them throughout: insert, GI, and flashers.

The translite looked especially nice with the new lights.

We gave this game a full shop job, pulling everything off the playfield, including the Mylar. After washing, polishing, tumbling, buffing, and otherwise cleaning everything, we put the whole thing back together.

In the end, the playfield looked just as good as the restored cabinet did, with its full stencils and powdercoated legs.

Enjoy the game, Kent!
