Time Machine is Out of This World Posted on June 20, 2016January 8, 2024 by Kris Bliznick We just finished a full shop job on this Time Machine pinball machine. It turned out great! Check it out! Data East came out with Time Machine in 1988, and produced nearly 2,900 machines. (IPDB) Time travel was a popular theme in the late ’80s, and this machine capitalized on it, with game play that allows you to go back to the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s, or stay in the great ’80s. Also fun, the game emulates an EM machine when you reach 1950. Digital displays emulate score reels, and sound effects come from a real chime box in the cabinet. We installed full LEDs in this game, and it made a world of difference. This colorful playfield became even more beautiful with the new bulbs. We gave this game a full shop job, too, tearing everything off the playfield to be polished, tumbled, washed, buffed, or otherwise cleaned. New rings, new balls, a couple of playfield touchups, a little cabinet work, and this game looked great! What beautiful colors! Enjoy the game, Ed!
