Stern Stars
Leslie tackled this project, a shop job on a 1978 Stern Stars. This is one of about 5,125 produced. The game is noted for being one of two Stern games that lets players switch off two score displays, making it a two-player game instead of four. The other variable-player Stern game is Stingray.

We had a tough decision about whether to peel up the Mylar. Someone had put it down AFTER there was already wear on the playfield. So we decided to freeze it off with our favorite propellant spray.

Here’s another shot of it coming up. We were lucky that it came up pretty cleanly. We did discover an extra layer underneath, though!

After a bit more polishing, some paint touch ups and a whole lot of light bulbs and rubbers, she was starting to look good again!
