An Original Simpsons

We had two Data East Simpsons machines come through the shop recently. One got a full restoration because it needed it. This one got only a shop job, because it was in great shape already. It’s rare to see one in such nice original condition. It looked even better when we were finished with it!
Check it out!

Data East came out with The Simpsons in 1990, just months after “The Simpsons” made its prime-time debut. (IMDB)
The company produced around 5,500 of the machines. (IPDB) And it seems like almost every one of them has extensive cabinet wear!
This one was in great shape, though, and only needed some minor touchups.
The playfield was in amazing shape too! We stripped everything off it, to be tumbled, buffed, washed, polished, or otherwise cleaned.
We added some special touches throughout, including Super Bands, and color-matched post sleeves.
We checked all the mechanics, and we added Cointaker LEDs throughout the game. Look at that beautiful glow!
Enjoy the game, Nate. It looks great!
