Congo is Incredible! Posted on May 6, 2015January 8, 2024 by Kris Bliznick We just finished a full shop job on this Congo pinball machine. Congo is always a fun game, and with just a few custom touches, this game now looks great, too! Williams came out with this game in 1995, and produced 2,129 machines. (IPDB) The game came out the same year as the movie version of the Michael Crichton book, starring Laura Linney, Tim Curry, and Ernie Hudson, of course. We think Congo is a great game, so we put some special touches on this one, including the powder-coated legs, rails, lockdown bar, and hinges. The game had been partially parted out, so we had to replace most of the circuit boards, the ball trough, etc. We also had to upgrade a few other parts, including the ramps. A few minor cabinet touchups, and, of course, that powder-coating, and this game was looking great. We gave it the usual shop job, too, tearing everything off the playfield to be polished, washed, tumbled, buffed, or otherwise cleaned. We installed full LEDs, too: insert, GI, and flashers. We also installed an LED strip in the volcano, which really makes it stand out. This game is with its owner now. We miss it already.
