This Game Rocks!

We just finished a full shop job on this Rock Encore pinball machine. We hadn’t seen this game before — it’s a kit conversion that Gottlieb put out from the factory. Check out more below!

Gottlieb came out with its Rock pinball machine in 1985, and produced almost 1,900 machines. Despite the game’s obvious ’80’s coolness, operators thought sales figures could be better, so Gottlieb put out a “Booster Pack” conversion kit — aka Rock Encore — in 1986.
The kit included a 15-minute art and sound conversion, consisting of a new translite and three new sound ROMs.
Here’s that translite! Can’t you just hear the magic?
We installed Cointaker LEDs throughout this machine. Look at that beautiful glow!
We gave the game a full shop job, too, pulling everything off the playfield to be washed, polished, buffed, tumbled, or otherwise cleaned. New rings, polished rails, and more!
We checked all the mechanics, touched up a few spots, and this game was ready to go. Just in time for a birthday, too!
Enjoy the game, Dustin. And may you all rock as hard as this guy!
