NEWS: ZapCon Day One Photos!

Now that we’ve had a chance to recover a little (and we do mean a little), it seemed about time to put up some photos from the weekend thrillfest better known as ZapCon. Without further ado, here’s the best of Saturday:

ZapCon1
We got to ZapCon bright and early Saturday morning.
ZapCon2
So did a lot of other people.
ZapCon3
It was awesome to see the line wrapping around the corner of the Mesa Convention Center.
ZapCon4
We got the booth set up right away.
ZapCon5
And then the doors open and the magic began.
ZapCon6
There were more than 300 games at ZapCon 4, and a dozen vendors.
ZapCon7
Contributors brought down some great games, with some really nice touches.
ZapCon8
Here’s Tales of Cthulhu, a custom game that won one of our Best of ZapCon trophies.
ZapCon9
Lines were long around several elite games all weekend, but none more so than Killer Queen, a 5-on-5 match-up game that owners described as a “cartoon murderfest.” Killer Queen also won a Best of ZapCon trophy!
ZapCon71
Here are some good folks enjoying our row of games for sale. We still have some of them available!
ZapCon72
We loved watching people play our custom Walking Dead machine, based on the graphic novel version of the story.
ZapCon91
Crowds gathered large by midday Saturday. Organizers were expecting up to 2,000 people to pass through the doors by day’s end.
ZapCon92
We brought our 3/4-scale Galaga, and enjoyed watching all the kids play it.
ZapCon93
These kids know how to play. We wonder where they get it from?
ZapCon94
We were happy to have lots of good friends drop by the booth.
ZapCon95
And anyone with cat ears is cool.
ZapCon96
Our kids came down on Friday night and we set up a little part of our booth for M&M Bulbs, their reconditioned lightbulb business. They scored a few sales!
ZapCon97
Chris and Kris, making sure no Hyperballs caught on fire all weekend.
ZapCon98
Our friend Jake, who brought some really great games down. Fans especially loved his six-player X-Men game.
ZapCon991
There was some heated tournament action in the back corner all-day long. Leslie came in third in the women’s division! (Yes, out of four finalists!)
ZapCon992
Here’s our California friend Louise, playing any of her single balls that beat Leslie’s cumulative score!
ZapCon993
The Big Boss even dragged himself over for a few tournament games.
ZapCon99
Crowds thinned out a bit by late Saturday, but a steady group of die-hards played late into the night.
ZapCon994
There were a lot of colorful people all weekend. We were happy to see Mario enjoying The Walking Dead.
