Goodbye, Getaway

Talk about the perfect Christmas present! From the brand-new playfield and plastics to the clearcoated, bright cabinet, this Getaway is a great example of a perennially popular game. And now it’s going to be a surprise for someone on Friday. Merry Christmas indeed.

Getaway1
Williams came out with this game in 1992, and produced more than 13,200 units. (IPDB)
Getaway2
The game is, of course, a revamped version of Williams’ 1986 High Speed. Faster and better-looking!
Getaway3
This is a quick-paced game with a great theme that appeals to pinball diehards and newcomers alike.
Getaway4
The cabinet had managed to escape any fade, so we clearcoated it, to preserve that color as long as possible.
Getaway5
We put a brand-new playfield into this game, too.
Getaway6
That’s a new plastic set in there, too, along with Super Bands, color-coded post rubbers, and more custom touches throughout.
Getaway7
We’ve checked all the mechanics in this game, too. Everything works 100%.
Getaway8
You can almost hear the pulse-quickening beats of “La Grange” if you stare at the translite long enough.
Getaway9
We installed full LEDs in the game: insert, GI, and flashers.
Getaway9a
Those LEDs burn cooler, and last longer than traditional incandescent bulbs. And they look great!
Getaway9b
Check out the glow around the Supercharger, one of the best features of this game.

The end!
